Non-Sanctioned Tournament Rules

All teams must register their rosters no later than 7 days prior to the tournament.

  1. Touch up offside and icing when shorthanded is allowed without a stoppage in play.
  2. 8u, 10u, & 12u, games will consist of 3×13 minute stop time periods.
  3. 14u, 16u, & 18u games will consist of 3×15 minute stop time periods.
  4. If there is a 5-goal spread in the 3rd period, the clock will run. Once running time starts, the only time the clock stops is for an injury or if the goal spread goes back to 3.
  5. Minor Penalties -1:30. Major Penalties – 4 minutes and misconducts will be 8 minutes.
  6. No timeouts in round robin play. One (1) 30 second timeout will be allowed for each team in
  7. Semi-Final and Championship Games.
  8. 2 Points for win. 1 Point for tie. 0 Points for a loss.
  9. Games can start up to 15 minutes earlier than scheduled time.

Tie Breakers

In the event of a tie in the standings in the Round Robin, results will be decided by:

  • If 2 teams are tied and have played each other in Round Robin, the winner of that game. If 3 or more teams tied go to the next tie breaker*.
  • Most Wins
  • The team with the highest % of Goals For / Total of Goals For and Against.
  • Most Goals For
  • *If 2 teams have played a head-to-head game and have identical records and are competing for the last playoff spot the winner of that game shall advance.
  • Coin flip

In the event of a tie in the Playoff Round, results will be decided by:

  • Sudden victory 3 on 3 overtime.
  • Overtime period will be 5 minutes run time last 30 seconds stop time.
  • If a team receives a penalty in overtime, the other team will add one player. If a team receives a 2nd penalty the other team will add another player. Please note if a penalty occurs during run time the following minutes apply. Any 1:30–minute penalty will be 2:00-minute run time and a 4-minute major penalty will be 5 minutes run time, and misconducts in OT will be ejection.
  • If still tied after 5 minutes OT, a shoot-out will take place to break the tie. Coaches will select 3 players to shoot (Coaches are responsible to provide the referee/timekeeper the order of shooters prior to the play-off game). If still tied after 3 shooters coaches will select 1 shooter and the shoot-out will be sudden death from that point on. The teams must choose different shooters until all players have had a chance to shoot.
  • NOTE: Any player serving a penalty that has not expired at the end of the overtime period is ineligible to participate in the shoot-out.
  1. Game Forfeits will result in a 5-0 win.
  2. Maximum goal differential is 7 goals.
  3. Penalties that occur in the 3rd period that carry over into overtime are served their full time assessed.
  4. A major fighting or gross misconduct penalty will result in player suspension from the tournament. Any team official (coach, trainer, or manager) ejected from a game could be suspended for the remainder of the tournament.
  5. Any team acquiring 12 or more penalties in a single game will result in the coach being suspended for the following game.
  6. Coaches are responsible for team conduct while their team is at the Arena.

NO PARENTS ARE ALLOWED ON ICE FOR ANY REASON ONLY BENCH STAFF & PLAYERS PERMITTED

Any disputes will be settled by the Tournament Committee and all decisions will be final.
